OpinionLab, the pioneer and global leader in Omnichannel Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback, today announced that it has received $15 million in growth capital financing from SSM Partners. OpinionLab will use the new funding to drive continued global expansion, as well as accelerate VoC innovation in support of its rapidly-growing client base. OpinionLab currently serves a prestigious client list, including half of the Fortune 50 and collects, interprets, and leverages over ten million location-specific comments each month in over 32 languages and from over 200 countries around the globe.
“OpinionLab has spent more than a decade successfully helping leading brands harness the power of customer feedback,” said Mark Treschl, co-founder and President of OpinionLab. “As we continue to grow our business, we remain laser focused on delivering our clients the insight they need to monitor and optimize an increasingly complex customer experience. SSM Partners has a history of backing innovative technology companies, and their partnership will be critical in driving our next phase of growth.”
The growth capital financing comes as OpinionLab continues to drive VoC forward to keep pace with changing consumer behavior and innovate new solutions to support true omnichannel feedback across online, mobile, store and products. Over the past 12 months, the company has enhanced its VoC solutions with mobile customer feedback tools to make it even easier for mobile consumers to share feedback directly with brands. Most recently, the company introduced industry-first capabilities that allow consumers to share photo and audio feedback with businesses at anytime, from anywhere.
OpinionLab currently holds 16 patents on major VoC advancements and has 14 patents pending in the areas of mobile feedback, advertising feedback and social media analytics. Crain’s Chicago recently ranked OpinionLab as one of Chicago’s Top Innovators based on an independent analysis of the value and quality of its patents.
“We invest in established companies with a proven and reliable product and demonstrated economic model,” said Wilson Orr, Managing Partner at SSM Partners. “OpinionLab helped to create the VoC category, and continues to be an innovator and category leader. They have a first-class team, technology and client base and a leadership position in a market that is seeing tremendous growth and interest based on the huge advantages it delivers for brands.”
